    Mounting Options

This unit is intended for quick, ground-level run-and-gun use. For safety reasons, do not bolt the heater to your racks or operate your vehicle with the heater bolted in place. Always use a quick-release style mounting solution instead.

Our customers have successfully tested two mounting methods:

    -Diesel Heater Exterior Hangers (Affordable)

    -Croc Hinge Recovery Bracket(Pricey)

    (Updated September 2025)

    Return Policy:

All sales are turnkey builds and final. We do not accept returns unless the Combusto unit arrives damaged during shipping and is non-operational within 7 days of delivery.

If a technical issue arises, our team will provide troubleshooting assistance to help resolve any error codes or operational concerns. If you choose not to proceed with troubleshooting, a return may be accepted; however, return shipping costs will be deducted, and the restocking fee may be waived at our discretion.

Each unit is fully tested before leaving our warehouse to ensure proper performance, so there should be no issues upon delivery.

    Warranty:

We provide replacement parts for up to six months from the delivery date. Our warranty includes troubleshooting support and the replacement of defective components. For minor issues that don’t require a replacement part, we’ll guide you through the troubleshooting process only.

    Update Log

We order Combusto in batches of 100 units per shipment. As we continue to gather real-world feedback from users, we are constantly refining the design and making improvements. Some features may be modified, refined, or removed based on performance, reliability, and user experience.

Some photos in this listing were taken with one of the earliest Combusto prototypes and may not fully reflect the most recent production version. This update log documents the changes we have made since 2026.

    Recent Updates

    • The LCD screen and ports have been relocated to the cold air intake side (right side) of the unit.
    • The 2kW core housing switched back to ABS in current production, though the internal heating core remains unchanged.
    • The most recent batch of 2kW units no longer includes the bungee net, due to concerns that in the tight space could damage the LCD panel.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we simply reorganized the internal layout to improve thermal separation.

All cold-side components are now positioned on the right-hand side, while all heat-generating components remain on the left-hand side. The aviation power port and air intake have been relocated to the right-hand side, and the exhaust and hot-air outlet are positioned on the left-hand side.

As part of this update, we removed the intake ducting that previously bridged the core unit air inlet on the right-hand side. Airflow is now handled more directly and efficiently.

    5kW Combusto

Best for deep winter, larger spaces, and extended overlanding setups. Delivers maximum heat output for extreme cold, multi-person tents, or enclosed workspaces. Ideal if you camp at high elevation or in sustained freezing conditions.

    2kW Combusto

Best for compact setups and travel-light builds. Provides efficient, reliable heat for smaller tents, solo campers, or short trips where portability and low power draw matter most.

    Quick Recommendation

Choose the 5kW if you camp in harsh winters or need serious heat.

Choose the 2kW if you want a compact, efficient heater for lighter, mobile setups.

All power stations — even entry-level units — can run the Combusto using our new 110V adapter. The only time you may run into breaker-tripping issues is when using a 12V cigarette-lighter plug, as those ports are not designed for high startup loads.

Power Draw: Both the 2kW and 5kW models pull 8–15 amps during startup, then settle to 1–3 amps while running.

    Fuel Consumption:

    2kW model: ~0.2 L/hour

5kW model: ~0.4 L/hour (depending on heat level)

    Priming & Break-In

Before first outdoor use, run the heater at maximum power with the lid open for about one hour. This allows the fuel to fully stabilize within the core. Some smoke from the heat wrap is normal during this process and is caused by condensation burning off. Use this time to monitor the unit and ensure everything is operating normally.

    Ventilation & Safety

Always place the exhaust and muffler outside of any living space.

Ensure the air intake has fresh, unobstructed airflow.

Never block air vents—restricted airflow may cause overheating or force fumes back toward you.

Keep the heater out of reach of children.

Periodically inspect all fuel connections to confirm they are tight and secure.

No — the Combusto diesel heater isn’t an Alibaba rebrand, and we’re not tied to any sellers on that platform.

This isn’t rocket science or a patented invention — anyone handy could throw a heater into a Pelican-style case. The difference is we found a reliable core, we built and refined it around this engine, and stand behind it with real support. That’s what makes Combusto worth owning.

Out in the market, you’ll find $100 heaters that fail fast, and $2,500 builds that feel overpriced for something you use seasonally. We built Combusto to sit in the sweet spot: a solid, dependable mid-tier option that balances quality, reliability, and price without the nonsense.

Combusto uses a premium, high-elevation-rated core at its heart. Every component is right there in plain sight—we don’t play the shortcut games here. It’s rugged enough for mountain passes, easy to run-and-gun, and built to stay reliable in tough weather.

Most cheap diesel heaters use a thick aluminum shell mainly to hide what’s inside—because that’s where the corners usually get cut. Think flimsy water-jug fuel tanks, or worse, copper power terminals still being used for outdoor gear. It makes no sense.

And to be fair, there are solid brands we respect in this space, like LF Bros and Hcalory.

    Warranty

We stand behind what we build. If anything comes up—whether you’re in or out of warranty—we’re here to help, whether that means troubleshooting an error code or walking you through a part replacement.

    Return

You may return the Combusto within 7 days of delivery for any reason as long as it’s unused.

A 25% restocking fee + shipping fee will apply.

If the heater has been used, is missing its original packaging, or shows signs of wear, an additional restocking fee will apply. Because this product qualifies as hazmat, we must arrange the return shipment for you. Shipping costs vary by location, and you cannot send this item back on your own without a hazmat shipping permit.
